Welcome to Imperialism in Late Qing Dynasty China.
The purpose of this website is to serve as a unit module for AP World History or Honors World History (9-12) classrooms. Students will examine several key events in Chinese history ranging from the First Opium War in 1839 to the Boxer Rebellion in 1901. The primary goal will be to enable students to understand the influence of imperialism and how reactions to imperialism contributed to major events in late Qing Dynasty China.
